Rose Red

Time for another blog update. I have bitten the bullet and entered a couple of my cards into challenges. Will see how that goes lol.
This week's card is a stamped card coloured with Spectrum Noir Markers and layered on Spellbinders label ten and Marianne Creatables.
My card base is a gate fold card with the rose border die cut out of Kraft card and attached to the 2 side panels. The labels are cut from some red hand made paper from my stash. I stamped the rose with versamark and embossed with gold powder. I used the Spectrum Noir red and green markers to colour the image.
Do hope you like this simple card.
Thank for taking the time to look at my blog

Circular easel card

I decided to finish off some odd pieces I have lying around. This image was printed onto parchment paper quite a while ago. It is from a Japanese Dover book.
Here is how I made the card. Using a semi square piercing tool from Pergamano I perforated around the border. The background of the image was made using the new PCA  Extra Fine Lace mesh size 2. Once that was done I did some embossing and then coloured the fans on the back with oil pastels. To finish the card off I cut the circle out and adhered it to a pink Spellbinders scalloped circle die cut. I then used my Grand Calibur Scalloped Circles to make the base card and adhered the Parchment circle to that. I cut a Spellbinders Fleur De Lis motif and adhered that to the inside with foam tape. Using my stash of parchment flowers and leaves I finished off the card.

I have not put a sentiment on the card yet, not sure who it is going to go to.

Post Nemo creativity

After shoveling snow and getting things back to normal after our Nemo snowstorm I decided to get back to the cards I have been asked to make. Graduation seems a long way off but when there are many cards to make it is good to get a head start. Must admit my creativity is a bit stifled when it comes to this sort of card, so I tend to make them in batches just changing colour schemes and die cuts.
Here are a few that I have made using the Cuttlebug embossing folders and Spellbinders die cuts.

Well that is all for now still have about 4 more to make

Finding Nemo in our front yard

This weekend saw us stuck indoors with a massive snowstorm swirling outside. There was a complete ban on all cars on the road in order for plows and emergency and utility vehicles to move about unencumbered. I am not sure what our final snowfall was but it looked about 2-3 feet.
We lost power on Friday night and of course that meant the heating was gone as well so we were left with just the gas fireplace in the family room to heat the house. Luckily we still had water and of course a gas stove so we were at least able to cook and make tea and coffee.
We have been in the USA for nearly 13 years and this is the first time we have experienced a complete NE winter with no power and no heat and of course record amounts of snow.
I took some photos just to give you an idea of the storm.

The power eventually came on late Sunday evening. We are lucky as I know there are other families in our neighbourhood who still have not have power.

Wedding cards galore

Having grown up children means upcoming weddings, not in our immediate family thank goodness. We have a large extended family and the children have friends all over the world, of course we can't go to all of them so I have been asked to make cards for these upcoming occasions.
I have just finished these two cards. The first one I used an old PSX rubber Stamp, a Spellbinders die cut, some flowers and ribbon from my stash.

The 2nd card was inspiration from Pintrest, this card is more suited to both the bride and the groom. I used  Cuttlebug Grace's Frame folder, Martha Stewart punch,Spellbinders M'Bossabilities Enchanted folder, flowers, ribbon and stickers from my stash.

Thanks for looking at my work
